"Brain Constipation". This song is about feeling like there is no one there for you.
faith. The song "Idiots are Taking Over" basically refers to the way NOFX feels about the changes in power taking place around the world, specifically in the US.
globalization. The song "Franco Un-American" is basically one big rant about the world's biggest problems, and how they relate to Americans socially. It's pretty basic, he's been told that so many things are bad, that he can't even wear comfortable shoes anymore, because of how they are made.
Zyclone B. Bathouse. That's right, this album actually contained over 40 songs, all made throughout NOFX's career. "Zyclone B. Bathouse" is one of my personal favourites. The song asks one simple question: "Who's more decent; One man or a dozen men? The answer: One man!".
better. Well I'm sure somebody out there thought that "Happy Birthday" should be re-designed... I just don't know if they had the same vision as NOFX. The entire song goes: "Happy birthday, you're not special. You're getting older, but not much better. We all want to embarrass you, that's why we're singing this song. So happy funking birthday. You're not special. You're not special." (These lyrics were ammended for use on FunTrivia)
An old man's feet. It's very simple, clams don't have feelings because they don't have central nervousness! I suppose this song is referring to similarities between humans, and their animal kingdom prey. Why do we kill them when we are apparently in many ways, similar?
f. "Cathay de I miss your smell" is actually from the song "The Desperation's gone". "Falling in Love" has a small set of very simple lyrics: "Blast oxygen masks, smoke filled cabin Depressurize, don't be afraid, hold onto me We're goin down, but not our love Death don't seem so bad, 'cause I'm with you My only love, so close your eyes Kiss me one last time, We're gonna Die, but not our love, not our love"
The constitution. Well anyone who knows this album, knows that "Funk The Kids" isn't the true title, but I ammended it for this quiz. "Murder the Government" seems like a pretty self-explanantory song title, but in case you didn't pick up on it's intentions... The song is about being fed-up with the American government and society.
Birkenstocks. Jeff doesn't just wear Birkenstocks... He wears a tye dyed Rancid shirt! But, "Is he a jerk? No! He's just confused"!
Liza and Louise. Ahh... Liza and Louise... I'll let you discover their story for yourself... All I can tell ya' is that "Liza's had enough with men".
Yes. Yet another case of a twisted big brother... "Vanilla Sex" reminds us all that we really have no privacy in this messed up world. No methods of our own... According to NOFX, we are only allowed to do what the government and society deems appropriate.
just the flu. Ahh... "Just The Flu", that, according to NOFX will be the message sent to other worlds after our own self-caused extinction. A premonition of the future? Or perhaps simply an idea of the past?...
ID. 1984 saw the release of the band's first album, "Maximum Rock 'n' Roll". The song "ID" is the fourth track, and as per many NOFX songs, refers at points to the pressures of society.
Olympia, WA. NOFX sang these sons on the BYO split CD, while Rancid sang classic notables as 'Stickin' in My Eye', 'Bob' and 'Don't Call Me White'. Thanks for playing, hope you enjoyed the quiz!
Champs Elysees. 'Champs Elysees' is a classical French song. It got its name from a park in Paris. In this song, Aaron Abeyta (aka El Hefe) plays the trumpet to give it more of a classical feel.
The Separation Of Church And Skate. 'The Separation of Church and Skate' is a spoof off the phrase 'separation of church and state'. This song was on the soundtrack of 'Tony Hawk's Underground' by Activision.
San Francisco Fat. This song was on the humourously named "45 Or 46 Songs That Weren't Good Enough To Go On Our Other Records", as well as 'Live Fat, Die Young', a compilation by their record company, Fat Wreck Chords.
The Cause. In this song, the band talks about how people only do their jobs for the money, while they're 'just doing it for the cause'.
Ant Attack. 'Ant Attack' was not a very popular song. In fact, 'Ant Attack' is considered by many to be one of NOFX's biggest flops.
Monosyllabic Girl. The lead singer for NOFX, Fat Mike, was in love with a monosyllabic girl at the time this song was recorded.
We Threw Gasoline On The Fire And Now We Have Stumps For Arms And No Eyebrows. The song "We Threw Gasoline On The Fire And Now We Have Stumps For Arms And No Eyebrows" is in the album "45 Or 46 Songs That Weren't Good Enough To Go On Our Other Records". The album actually has 47 songs.
